Rehearsal Dinner : Five Front Restaurant BB07's Venue

Five Front Street

BB07 writes and provided the photo:
Good news- we booked our rehearsal dinner [though I think this would be a great place for a smallish wedding as well they hold up to 40 or 45 (I can't remember) max]- my in laws are excited, we came in way under budget! Five Front Street

Patty was amazing, the dinner is a choice of 3 apps, 3 entrees, passed apps in the garden outside, 2 desserts (one chocolate, one not and a sorbet), 50.00/head plus drinks- AMAZING. Deposit is $250. Drinks can be open tab or 9/per person per hour open bar. Open tab winds up being more affordable actually. We have to start at 5:30 for drinks (5 if it was a Friday) and dinner by 6:30. Out by 9.

I investigated everyone's suggestions for Rehearsal dinners in Brooklyn (Frankie's, Carciofi, Ici, Bubby's, Bacchus, Paninotecca, Alma, etc...) and wanted to add a few that we found.

All were about the same price range (from $35-45/per person wo/w wine or beer):
Thomas Beisel (directly across from BAM--25 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn, NY ) has a private garden side room. Viennese/old world food. Very nice and willing to accommodate menu options.
Pete's Downtown is at the foot of the Fulton Ferry Landing. Italian traditional red sauce food. Ground floor so no view from inside, but mere steps away from a great under-the-Brooklyn-Bridge views.

66 Water in DUMBO. Private basement room, but also very close to the Bridge and views. I think this one had full bar included.

And the one we chose:Marco Polo on Court St. Super old-skool Brooklyn. Incredibly charming, we were fed pasta and cappuccinos while we discussed menu options. Private upstairs room with big chandelier. Lots of pre-hipster Brooklyn charm.

Arium
BB07 wrote: I forget how many people- but I just saw a great brunch wedding this weekend at Arium but the pics on the site don't do their brunch justice- they had such sweet little teacups etc...and they LIKE doing weddings, rather than many places who don't want to.

Dresses : Maggie Sottero

So I'm officially on the hunt for a wedding dress...finally.I've really been putting it off, so now I basically have about 7 months left till the wedding. I'm trying not to freak out.Anyways, I tried on a Maggie Sottero dress http://www.maggiesottero.com/ and it wasn't half bad. It looked way different on me than the model, in a good way.So I looked on her website and saw some other nice dresses. Two in particular I love the fronts (the Melinda and Jessica Marie), not too sure about the backs, but hey they might look better on.
